What coding languages do you teach, and why?

We teach a logical progression of three high-demand languages:

  • Scratch (Ages 8-10): This is the perfect visual, block-based entry point to
learn core coding logic (loops, variables, conditions) without getting
    frustrated by syntax.
  • JavaScript (Ages 10+): We transition students to their first text-based
language, focusing on web development to build interactive websites and
    games they can share online.
  • Python (Ages 10+): Python is highly valued for its readability and realworld use in data science and AI, preparing older students for advanced
    concepts.
How do you transition kids from block coding to text coding?

The transition is smooth because we focus on the underlying logic in Scratch first. Once a student masters block-based concepts, they already understand what the code should do. We then introduce text-based languages like JavaScript and Python, which simply teach them the new way to write those same logical commands.

Is typing a requirement for the younger students?

Not at all! Our younger students start with Scratch, which is entirely drag-and-drop. This allows them to focus purely on the logic. As they transition to Python and JavaScript, we gradually encourage and help them develop their typing skills.

What equipment does my child need for the online classes?

Your child will need a reliable laptop or desktop computer (Windows or Mac) and a stable internet connection. A mouse is highly recommended for coding, and a headset with a microphone will help them communicate clearly with the instructor and classmates.

What age range is this program designed for?

Our core curriculum is designed for kids aged 8 to 12. We have structured courses to ensure that the content (from visual to text-based coding) is engaging and appropriate for their developmental stage.

Do you offer trial classes or assessments?

Yes, we offer a free trial class so your child can experience the fun of our learning environment. This also allows our mentor to assess their current skill level to ensure they are placed in the perfect course for their
success.

Why is learning to code important for my child?

Coding teaches more than just a technical skill. It is the language of the future and fosters essential life skills, including:

  • Computational Thinking: Breaking down big problems into small, solvable steps.
  • Creativity: Using logic to bring imaginative projects (like games and apps) to life.
  • Confidence: Gaining a profound sense of achievement when they create something that actually works.
Will learning these languages help them in school?

Absolutely. Coding heavily reinforces math skills (sequencing, variables, geometry) and literacy skills (reading and following instructions, understanding syntax). The logical thinking gained benefits every subject, not just technology.
